To mark the International Women’s Day 2017, Bangladesh Institute of Labor Studies –BILS organized a discussion meeting titled “Promises of Women’s Day: Safe and Decent work place for Women” on 9th March, 2017 at Chittagong Press Club.
Addressing the meeting, chief guest, Fasiul Alam, Vice Chancellor of Feni University said that it is the time to reflect on progress made, to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities.
Women leader Noorjahan Khan said that women should come forward and they should break the silence to stop all kinds of violence against women.
Centre Coordinator of BILS-LRSC A M Nazim Uddin, Joint Secretary of Central Committee of Jatiya Sramik League Md Shafar Ali, President of Trade Union Centre- Chittagong Tapan Dutta and Project Coordinator of BILS-DGB Project Kohinoor Mahmood also spoke among others at the discussion meeting.
