Sramik Nirapotta Forum paid homage to the deceased workers of Rana Plaza on April 24, 2018 at Jurain graveyard and a civil tribute activity was organised in front of Savar Rana Plaza.

Abdul Wahed, Awaz Foundation Director Nahidul Islam Noyon and Sramik Nirapotta Forum affiliated organisations, SKOP Leaders, National Trade Union Federations and BILS Leaders were present in the programme at Jurain graveyard.
Expressing deep sympathy for the deceased workers of Rana Plaza accident Leaders said that quick trial and exemplary punishment are yet not ensure while five years of this incident already have passed. They urged to ensure trial and punishment of responsible person through proper investigation. Emphasizing on building National culture in order to ensure workplace safety they urged to ensure long term treatment and rehabilitation of injured and victim workers considering loss of earning of workers whole life on the basis of ILO Convention 121 and Fatal Accident Act 1885 and compensation order given by the honourable Court.
Prominent Lawyer and Constitution Expert Dr. Kamal Hossain, Gonosastha Kendra Founder Dr. Zafrullah Choudhury, Manobadhikar Sangskrity Foundation Founder President Advocate Sultana Kamal, prominent journalist and columnist Syed Abul Maksud, BILS Advisory Council Member Shah Mohd. Abu Zafar, Joint Secretary General Dr. Wajedul Islam Khan, Executive Director Syed Sultan Uddin Ahmmed and Leaders of Trade Union Federations at National Level and representatives of civil society participated in the programme organised at Savar Rana Plaza accident site.
Recalling this disaster day of Rana Plaza Leaders urged to strengthen workers workplace safety all over the country. Besides, they urged to take necessary steps for building specialized hospital for injured workers, initiating accident insurance, rehabilitation for victim workers and to help them for getting rid of mental trauma. Leaders demanded to identify the reasons behind the inadequate repetition of the incident through proper investigation and disclose it publicly in future.
