Two-safety committees were formed in Khulna in saw mill and light engineering sector. As a part of BILS/LO-FTF Decent Work Project, a meeting was organised regarding this safety committee formation on October 10, 2017 at Hotel Basundhara in Khulna.
Khulna DIFE Deputy Director Mahar Ali and Labour Inspector Nobonita Borua coordinated the process of safety committee formation. Besides, Khulna Trade Union Senior Leaders, owners’ and workers’ party from saw mill and light engineering participated in the meeting.
BILS have been working on organising safety committees in Khulna since 2016.
